Senior UX/UI Designer
Location: Remote (UK-based)
Salary: £69,300 + profit share
Type: Full-time, permanent
Are you a hands-on UX/UI designer with a passion for clean, user-focused design? Do you want to work on a respected, open-source SaaS platform used by major charities, museums, and global organisations and help shape its future?
Montala, the employee-owned company behind ResourceSpace, is looking for a Senior UX/UI Designer to take the lead on all aspects of design across our platform, marketing, and brand.
Why this role?
We’ve reached a point where design can no longer be spread across developers or external freelancers. We’re looking for a full-time design professional who:
-
Owns the UX and UI of ResourceSpace
-
Ensures consistency across our software, marketing materials, and website
-
Helps us stay ahead of trends and outshine competitors in usability and visual appeal
You won’t be working in a silo - we want someone who can shape not only how ResourceSpace looks and feels, but how it works for users. You'll be part of our senior team, collaborating with developers, marketers and leadership, but you’ll also have the autonomy to set direction and deliver improvements.
What you’ll do
Product design
-
Improve the UX and UI of the ResourceSpace platform based on current UX review findings and your own insights
-
Prototype and test new features and flows
-
Work closely with developers on implementation, providing production quality HTML and CSS
Marketing & branding
-
Create visual assets for marketing materials, social media, and email campaigns
-
Maintain and improve the design of our public website
-
Shape and evolve the overall visual identity of ResourceSpace
Strategic input
-
Research and review competitor systems and industry trends
-
Propose and implement improvements that keep us ahead in usability and visual quality
-
Contribute to internal thinking on user journeys, onboarding, accessibility, and product differentiation
About you
-
Strong portfolio of UX/UI work for complex web-based applications
-
Skilled in modern tools (Figma, Sketch, or similar)
-
Confident with HTML/CSS and browser rendering; comfortable designing for the real world, not just the artboard
-
Experience working closely with developers and understanding constraints
-
Organised, self-motivated, and excited about owning the design function end-to-end
What we offer
-
£69,300 salary
-
Annual profit-sharing bonus (ramps up with time) - 90% of our profits go to staff, 10% to charity and staff who have been with us a few years are receiving more than their base salary in bonuses.
-
Fully remote, flexible working
-
Ethical company culture (B-Corp certified, 100% employee-owned)
-
Clients include Oxfam, Unicef, the NHS, many global conservation organisations and well known brands
